Marta Bordonali
In her artistic career, the first element that comes to us concerns the language she uses, a language that moves on the terrain of quotation, of the reworking of images so famous that they have become over the years the heritage of the collective imagination and have been definitively absorbed by our visual culture.
Those icons undergo a process of purification that cleanses them of excesses and colouristic redundancies to give them back to us in all the explosive power of essential features. The artist then engages, through the use of a vast and refined visual culture, in a work of integration of images through quotations and the like.
Of the great Pop experience raised in the American context between the end of the 50s and the beginning of the 60s, Marta Bordonali gives us her very personal reinterpretation of that era.
